China has blocked India's move in the UN demanding action against Pakistan over the release of Mumbai attack mastermind and LeT commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi in violation of a resolution of the world body as it contended that India provided insufficient information.
India said Lakhvi's release was in violation of the 1267 UN resolution dealing with designated entities and individuals.
"We need to have further discussion and conversation so that we can have better understanding and can work closely on it. We are ready to do that," said a Chinese official.
China on Thursday said its stand on blocking India against UN action on Pakistan was based on "facts" and in the spirit of "objectiveness and fairness".
