The first woman mountaineer from Jharkhand Premlata Agarwal, who conquered Mount Everest last May, is now aiming to scale the remaining five summits across the world.
A contingent of over two dozen women, including border guarding 'mahila' troops of BSF, have embarked on a maiden 2,300 km camel safari along India's international border with Pakistan.
Perhaps it's these "fatal attractions" that have failed to deter mountaineers -- even for the time being, from continuing to dream of making it to Everest top, despite a slew of avalanches, triggered by the deadly April 25 Nepal temblor, which left 19 climbers, including sherpa mountain guides, dead and several more injured.
Long queues near the top prolonged the wait times this year, causing oxygen tanks and physical endurance to drain on the way down. The 'traffic jams' likely contributed to the death of 11 people including three Indians.
