China on Wednesday hit back at United States President Donald Trump's tariffs on Chinese exports with 84 per cent levies on its imports from America, intensifying the trade war between the top two economies of the world.
Asian media groups should use technical innovation to enrich their communication channels and have their own versions of Facebook and Twitter to expand the region's influence, Cui Yuying, deputy director of the State Council Information Office said.
China has a total of 694,000 websites, over 20 per cent being owned by individuals and the number is ever growing.
The confirmed cases climbed to 571 mostly from the city of Wuhan with 17 deaths so far. The Wuhan government required all people in public places such as hotels, restaurants, cinemas, parks, shopping centres and public transports to wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus, according to an announcement on Wednesday night. The rule took effect immediately.
