A day after she praised Rohan Murthy's performance at Infosys' board meeting, the firm's newly-appointed independent director and Biocon head Kiran Mazumdar Shaw on Wednesday apologised for the remarks.
Infosys chief mentor N R Narayana Murty's son Rohan Murthy, a qualified engineer, also seems to know the craft of jewellery making, as he spent seven-and-a-half hours to make a platinum ring for fiance Lakshmi Venu.
The son is not being groomed for a bigger role in the company as of now.
'Rohan would be my executive assistant and he would receive a salary of Re 1 a year.'
Rohan Murthy, the only son of his parents, has found his life partner in Lakshmi Venu, the 26-year-old daughter of TVS Motor co-chairman Venu Srinivasan. In no time after confirmation from the bride and the groom, the two families sealed the merger of souls with their engagement in Chennai on Friday evening.
Murthy, said Mohandas Pai, should focus on mentoring the next generation.
