Services on the Mumbai's Western Railway line were severely disrupted on Wednesday following protests by thousands of commuters who blocked the tracks, demanding more trains from suburban Borivali to Churchgate. The protestors were allegedly demanding more services between Borivali and Churchgate on the slow tracks, he said, adding that trains on the fast line were operational but delayed.
"Train services have come to a standstill at 2120 hrs following the flash strike", Western Railway PRO S S Gupta said. "The motormen had given a notice for hunger protest (strike) for today but there was no intimation about this strike," he said."We are trying to resolve the issue and resume train services soon," he said.
