The strike at Maruti Suzuki India's plant in Manesar is threatening to spread to Gurgaon-Manesar belt, with a panel of workers of various firms in the region warning that a similar stir could hit others unless demands of their agitating colleagues' at India's largest carmaker are met.
The 50-issue Nifty fell 29.60 points or 0.34 per cent to close at 8,642.55
The Sensex ended up 48 points at 28,386 and the Nifty gained 13 points to close at 8,476.
Apart from around 40 Japanese companies and five global vendors of MG Motor India, many other biggies are eyeing Gujarat for either greenfield opportunities or brownfield expansion.
Maruti Suzuki has given Nexa franchises to only existing dealers.
