Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday launched a unique pension scheme for the poor called the 'Samajwadi Pension' that aims to cover as many as 40 lakh people not covered under the existing 'Old Age', 'Widow' or 'Disabled' pension schemes.
Vulgar display of extravagance seems to be a commonality between political rivals Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
The war in Samajwadi Party was far from over on Sunday with a defiant Ram Gopal Yadav declaring Akhilesh Yadav as party president at the national convention in Lucknow which was declared as "unconstitutional" by supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
