India's GHI Score is based on the values of four component indicators: 13.7 per cent of the population is undernourished, 35.5 per cent of children under five are stunted with 18.7 per cent of them being wasted, and 2.9 per cent of children die before their fifth birthday, the report notes.
Reacting sharply to the Global Hunger Report 2021, the Women and Child Development Ministry said it is 'shocking' to find that it has lowered the rank of India on the basis of FAO estimate on proportion of undernourished population which is found to be 'devoid of ground reality and facts, and suffers from serious methodological issues'.

India has slipped to 101st position in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2021 of 116 countries, from its 2020 position of 94th and is behind its neighbours Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. According to the global report, just 9.6 per cent of all children between 6 and 23 months of age are fed a minimum acceptable diet.
Well-known companies like Wipro, ITC, Patni Computers, Spectral Services and many others have received permission to work on 'green buildings' in industrial zones of the National Capital Region like Noida and Gurgaon. Green buildings consultancy company SGS Pvt India Ltd Head Avinash Kumar said there are about 40 buildings in the country that fall under the green category and atleast 10-12 companies are in place that cater for such requirements currently.
