Bopanna-Mirnyi lose in St Petersburg

India's Rohan Bopanna and Belarussian partner Max Mirnyi lost the doubles final of the St Petersburg Open in St Petersburg, Russia on Sunday.

The unseeded Indo-Belarussian pair were beaten 6-3, 6-7 (4), 8-10 by Travis Parott of the United States and Filip Polasek of Slovakia in the decider.

Bopanna and Mirnyi had earlier defeated Mikhail Mertinak of Slovakia and Lovro Zovko of Croatia 7-5, 6-2 in their last four match on Saturday and their opponents had edged Mikhail Elgin and Alexandre Kudryavstev of Russia 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 to set up what turned out to be a memorable final.
