Continuing her winning streak, India's teen tennis sensation Sania Mirza outplayed Jewel Peterson of the United States 7-5, 6-2 to storm into the quarter-finals in the Chris Evert ITF women's tournament in Florida, US.

Sania, a qualifier in the tournament, played a tight-fisted game in the first set against Patterson, ranked world 324, and clinched it at 7-5.

Patterson, who entered the pre-quarters, defeating sixth seed Xie Yan Ze of China, could not match the fast-paced game of Sania in the second set., which the Indian won comfortably 6-2.

The Wimbledon Grand Slam winner in the girls'doubles earned a bonus point for defeating a top-500 ranking player.

In the quarter-finals Sania will meet third seed Petra Rampre of Slovakia, ranked 236th.
