The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday moved a Delhi court for holding an in-camera hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of former RAW officer V K Singh, charged with breaching the Official Secrets Act by writing a book on the functioning of the intelligence agency.
On CBI's contention that the case was "sensitive", Additional Sessions Judge K S Mohi sought reply from Singh and posted the matter for hearing on November 19.
The investigating agency on September 19 registered a case against Singh for allegedly violating section 5 (wrongful communication of information) of the Act.
Singh, a former joint secretary in the Research and Analysis Wing had written the book "India's External Intelligence: Secrets of RAW".
Three months after his book on alleged corruption in the RAW hit the stands, CBI raided the house of Singh, a retired major-general, after the government filed a complaint with the probe agency.
Singh was on deputation from the army to RAW from 2000 till his retirement in 2004.
