While constable Dalbeer Singh was gunned down by militants in Rajpora town of Pulwama district, another on-duty cop identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat was dead in Yaripora town of Kulgam district on Tuesday evening.

A police spokesman said both the critically wounded cops were taken to the hospital where they succumbed. The police has launched a massive hunt to nab the militants involved in the two attacks.

The attacks follow the recent blaze at a highly revered Muslim shrine in the old city Khanyar locality.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has now announced that the shrine would be rebuilt and restored to its original glory in the next 24 months.

Meanwhile, the police in north Kashmir Sopore with the assistance of security forces busted a recruitment module of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Tayiba, the spokesman said.

"Seven members of the terror module were arrested from different areas of Sopore town and adjoining areas," he added.
