LS, RS adjourn for recess

The budget session of Parliament was adjourned on Thursday for recess till April 17.

The month-long first half of the session, which commenced with the President's address to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, witnessed the presentation of the railway and general budgets.

The controversial Patents (Amendment) Bill and the budgets for Bihar and Goa, which are now under President's rule, were also passed during the session.

Standing Committees of Parliament would meet in the interregnum .
