CCS meets after CDS's death

Soon after an Indian Air Force helicopter crash killed Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and other defence personnel near Coonoor, Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi convened a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting.

Besides Prime Minister Modi, the CCS meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Anilchandra Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P K Misra and Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba also attended the meeting, in which the CCS members were briefed about the tragic accident.
