The Delhi police have arrested a key aide of Dawood Ibrahim, Fazl-ur-Rahman, on the Indo-Nepal border near Gorakhpur.

The Interpol had issued a red corner notice on Rahman, wanted in more than 30 cases of extortion, kidnapping and blackmailing.

A team of the Delhi police's special branch arrested him on Sunday evening between Sanoli and Gorakhpur.

The cops laid a trap after receiving information that the dreaded gangster, elusive for the last nine years, was frequently visiting his hometown in Bihar.

Rahman, after staying in Dubai for nine years, had shifted his base to Nepal last year.

He was brought to Delhi by road and was presented in a court on Monday.

According to the information available with the police, Rahman was also friends with Babloo Shrivastava, accused in several criminal cases.
