Kidney scam: House of kingpin's wife raided

A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday raided the residence of the second wife of Amit Kumar, the alleged kingpin of the multi-crore kidney racket, in Jammu.

A special CBI team raided Sonia's house in Digiana area of Jammu city and questioned her family members for almost five hours, official sources told PTI.

They also seized some vital documents and property papers in the name of Kumar's wife, they said, adding that she is settled in Canada [Images] where Kumar has made huge investments in real estate.

His wife is looking after the business establishments in Canada, which is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI.

A police team from Muzaffarnagar had arrived in Jammu to raid the house of Kumar's wife on February 4, but failed to locate the address and had gone back.
