Toll in Amarnath police firing goes up to 21

The death toll in the two-day agitation over the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by the Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti in Jammu has risen to 21 after three persons wounded in firing incidents by security forces succumbed to their injuries on Wednesday.

Amarnath fallout may engulf India

Faisal Ahmad Dar, Mehrajuddin Khan and Hafizullah Baba who were injured when security forces opened fire on protesters at various places since Monday died early on Wednesday, official sources said.

Jammu is not for burning

Faisal Ahmad Dar was injured in the firing by Central Reserve Police Force at Bagh-e-Mehtab area of the city while Mehrajuddin Khan was injured in army firing at Aribal in Bandipora district. Both firing incidents happened on Tuesday.

Jammu's Hindu uprising

Hafizullah Baba was struggling for life in a local hospital after he sustained bullet injuries in police firing on Monday at Qamarwari.

Altogether 12 people were killed in the Valley during the firing incidents on Wednesday.
