A live bomb was found on Friday near Amroli Bridge in Katargam area of Surat [Images], taking the total number of explosive devices found from the city to 25 in the last fortnight.

"We have found a bomb from Katargam area. It is similar to the ones that were found earlier. We have defused it,"
Deputy Commissioner of Police V Chandrasekhar told PTI . "The bomb squad opened the packet and defused it," he said. The bomb was found outside Lord Hanuman [Images] temple which devotees throng on Saturday.

As many as 24 bombs were found in and around Varacha area of the city in last fortnight. All the bombs were later defused. Two cars laden with explosives were also found in Surat.

The only relief for the administration was that none of those bombs exploded probably due to faulty integrated circuit chips.
The police are working hard to find a clue on who planted the bombs in Surat but have not been successful so far in their quest.
