In a sudden development, Janata Dal-Secular has suspended its negotiations with the Bharatiya Janata Party on the transfer of power in Karnataka.

JD-S supremo H D Deve Gowda, who was expected to meet BJP president Rajnath Singh and others to discuss the power transfer, returned to Bangalore from Delhi on Wednesday night, sources said.

The move has cast uncertainty over the transfer of power from JD-S to BJP on October 3, as per a power sharing agreement between the two parties.
