The Congress has devised an innovative way to fire up its workers in their electoral fight in Gujarat -- vehicles.

The party has decided to give a Toyota Innova to each of its 200 block presidents and some other leaders to boost its campaign in the tough battle against Narendra Modi.

For the purpose, the party has hired 300 such big-bodied vehicles, all in grey colour with 'Chak de Congress' stickers and a party flag on it.

The vehicles will be available for leaders only till the end of the campaign in December.

But the party being careful this time round in view of its bad experience in Uttar Pradesh during recent elections when Mahindra Boleros given for campaign were not returned.

This time, the Innovas will be given with trained drivers and mobile phones to ensure that the vehicles are not misused.

The idea was a brainchild of Ahmed Patel, political secretary to Congress president Sonia Gandhi [Images], party sources said.
