A Lashkar-e-Tayiba militant was arrested and the body of an unidentified person was recovered in Jammu and Kashmir [Images] on Friday, police said.

In a joint operation, police, Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force arrested LeT militant Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh alias Moulvi from his village at Rampora in Pulwama district, a police spokesman said.

A hand grenade and some incriminating documents were recovered at the instance of the captured militant from the village.

Meanwhile, police fished out the body of an unidentified person from a stream at Batamagi-Nichiya in Karnah sector of Kupwara district on Friday morning.

The identity of the deceased and the cause of his death were being ascertained.
