A Border Security Force constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at the Raj Bhavan, a BSF spokesman said on Monday.
Constable C P Nishad of 143 battalion posted at Raj Bhavan shot himself with his service rifle at 11.25 pm on Sunday, the spokesman said.
The motive for taking such an extreme step by the constable was not immediately known, he added.
The Governor's secretariat is currently functioning from the winter capital in Jammu.
