A Bollywood film unit shooting for a Hindi movie at Chandanwari near Pahalgam on the foothills of the South Kashmir Himalayan range were stranded by a sudden heavy snowfall on Sunday afternoon.

A special police team was despatched to Chandanwari to rescue the film stars and the crew shooting for 'Dastan' being directed by Santosh Shivan. The film stars Anupam Kher [Images], Rahul Bose [Images] and Sarika [Images].

"Anupam Kher and Bose have reached Pahalgam. We have rescued all film unit members on Sunday night," said Mansoor Ahmed, house officer, Pahalgam police station, said. The rescue was being hampered by heavy snowfall in the area, making the vehicular movement very difficult," a police officer said.

The crew has been shooting for the film for about a month in the area. It is the second snowfall of the season in Pahalgam.
