Ultras gun down J&K ex-top police officer

Unidentified militants on Friday gunned down a retired police officer at Babagund near Pattan town, 40 km from Srinagar [Images].

Police said ultras fired indiscriminately at Mohammad Amin Khan, a retired superintendent of police, Jammu and Kashmir [Images], inside his residence. Till recently, Khan was in-charge anti-militancy operations Budgam district.

"Khan was rushed to a hospital, but succumbed en route," a senior police officer told rediff.com.

Senior police and security force officers rushed to the spot immediately. No arrests have been made so far.
