Zaheera, who was in tears, sought Judge Abhay Thipsey's permission to say something in camera. The judge granted the same and asked all those present in the courtroom, including reporters, to leave.

Zaheera, who appeared before the Judge at 11.30 am, had surrendered on March 10, pleading that she be sent to a Maharashtra jail and not in Gujarat, as she feared for her life.
