J&K: Four hurt in militant attack

Four officials of the state statistical department who had gone for evaluation migrant property were injured in a militant ambush at village Khudwani in south Kashmir's Anantnag district this afternoon.

The Deputy Inspector General of South Kashmir range, Sheikh Owain told rediff.com that militants opened indiscriminate fire at the officials injuring four of them including Som Nath who is the assistant director of the statistical department.

The injured have been rushed to hospital in Srinagar [Images] and a massive hunt launched to track down the attackers.
