Charges under Public Safety Act have been revoked against 34 persons in Jammu and Kashmir.

A joint committee set up by Jammu and Kashmir and the central government recommended the revocation.

The recommendation follows the path-breaking meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders on January 22.

The committee, which met in Srinagar on Thursday at the instance of Union home ministry asked the Mufti Mohammed Sayeed government to submit further such cases for review.
