The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered listing of a host of PILs seeking an independent inquiry into the Godhra incident and the subsequent riots in Gujarat along with a National Human Rights Commission petition for transfer of riot cases outside the state.

A bench headed by Justice S Rajendra Babu directed that petitioners - danseuse Mallika Sarabhai, noted Bengali litterateur Mahashweta Devi and ad guru Alyque Padamsee - to move a bench headed by the Chief Justice of India, which is hearing the NHRC's petition.
