Congress CMs conclave in Srinagar from May 30

May 17, 2003 15:57 IST

All India Congress Committee chief Sonia Gandhi will chair a two-day conclave of chief ministers of Congress-ruled states beginning on May 30 in Srinagar.

"The conclave will be attended by 15 Congress chief ministers," Minister of State for Tourism Ghulam Ahmed Mir said on Saturday.

The two-day meet would discuss major issues confronting states ruled by the party and review their performances based on the common minimum programme he said.

It will be Gandhi's third visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the formation of the Congress backed government in the state.

She had earlier attended the oath-taking ceremony of the Mufti Mohammed Sayeed Government on November 2, 2002, in Srinagar, followed by her visit to Nadimarg to meet carnage survivors in April.
