R K Sharma granted custodial parole
to attend daughter's wedding

March 26, 2003 15:20 IST

A Delhi court on Wednesday granted five days' custodial parole to R K Sharma, key accused in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, to attend his daughter's wedding scheduled for April 20.

Additional Sessions Judge J M Mallik Sharma was given the liberty to choose the five days and intimate the same to
the authorities at Tihar jail, where he is lodged at present on charges of murdering the scribe.

The judge asked policemen (in civilian clothes) to accompany Sharma 'wherever he travelled'.

Earlier, the court had granted Sharma five hours' custodial parole to attend his daughter's engagement ceremony.
