Kalam to visit Jammu and Kashmir from June 25-26

June 14, 2003 20:57 IST

In a rare Presidential visit, A P J Abdul Kalam will make a two-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir on June 25 and 26, and will present colours to the police and attend the convocation of J&K University.

This is the first Presidential visit to the valley after five years.

The presentation of colours will be done in Srinagar while the university convocation is to be in Jammu, official sources said.

During the visit, he would also be having an interaction with the MLAs, the first such dialogue after the assembly elections held earlier this year, sources said.
