Like 2020, 2021 will not have any film release in June.

While one continues to be content with what OTT has to offer, Joginder Tuteja goes back in time to see the biggest June releases of the last 10 years.

Kabir Singh, 2019
Box office collection: Rs 278.24 crore

Kabir Singh became a major blockbuster in June 2019.

Despite the criticism and conversations around the film, the Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani starrer grew from strength to strength.

The same month saw the release of Salman Khan's Eid release, Bharat, with a Rs 211.07 crore BO collection.

Sanju, 2018
Box office collection: Rs 342.53 crore

Salman's 2018 Eid release Race 3, which saw a collection of Rs 169 crore, was surpassed by Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju.

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer was a massive blockbuster and looked like a smash hit from the moment its trailer was released.

Tubelight, 2017
Box office collection: Rs 120 crore

Salman's 2017 Eid release Tubelight is among his lowest grossers at Rs 120 crore ever since he started delivering hits post Dabangg.

The Kabir Khan directorial was a flop, and the 2017 saw a rare summer with no hits.

Housefull 3, 2016
Box office collection: Rs 109 crore

Five years ago, Akshay Kumar delivered one of the biggest summer hits with Housefull 3.

The Sajid Nadiadwala production took forward the franchise and made it even bigger with Abhishek Bachchan joining Akshay and Riteish Deshmukh.

The hardcore comedy entertainer went on to enter the Rs 100 crore club and paved the way for its fourth installment.

ABCD - Any Body Can Dance 2, 2015
Box office collection: Rs 107 crore

Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor enjoyed a June hit when ABCD - Any Body Can Dance 2 became a hit.

Director Remo D'Souza's dance film opened well and went on to score a century at the box office.

Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, 2014
Box office collection: Rs 113 crore

Before Housefull 3, Akshay had enjoyed another summer century with Holiday.

In fact, it was one of his first centuries at the box office post which, of course, he has become a regular in the Rs 100 crore club.

While A R Murugadoss' action thriller was a big success, another film which did well was Ek Villain with a BO collection of Rs 106 crore.

Raanjhanaa, 2013
Box office collection: Rs 60 crore

One of the rare years when there was no century at the box office in June, 2013 saw its biggest summer hit with Aanand L Rai's Raanjhanaa.

Still, made at controlled costs, the film was a good earner at the box office.

Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol did well in this well-reviewed film.

Rowdy Rathore, 2012
Box office collection: Rs 133 crore

Akshay's biggest June hit is Rowdy Rathore, opposite Sonakshi Sinha.

Director Prabhudeva was in great form with this action movie which featured Akshay in a double role.

Ready, 2011
Box office collection: Rs 120 crore

Salman's Ready entertained family audiences in a big way in 2011.

This was, in fact, his next big hit after Dabangg and audiences were more than happy to see his antics on screen.

Asin seemed to enjoy herself in the film too, with her Dhinka Chika dance catching on.

Raajneeti, 2010
Box office collection: Rs 93.66 crore

Though Raajneeti missed entering the Rs 100 crore club by a whisker, this is one of the best movies in Bollywood with a political set up.

Director Prakash Jha did well with his superb ensemble cast (Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Katrina Kaif and Nana Patekar) and ensured that audiences hailed it critically as well as commercially.
