PIX: Nagarjuna's mother passes away, Telugu film industry mourns

Akkineni Annaporna, wife of Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) and mother of superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, passed away on December 28 due to renal problems. She had been ailing for a while and was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters and two sons.

Annapoorna and ANR had been married for 62 years. ANR's acting career graph rose after he married Annaporna in 1949. He named his studios and production house, which he established in 1976, after her. Annaporna Studios is one of the premiere studios of Hyderabad. 

Several personalities from the fields of politics, cinema and business called on to pay their condolences to the bereaved family.
