The Rashmi Rocket trailer is both predictable and cliched, but Taapsee gives us an exciting performance, observes Laxmi Negi.

Taapsee Pannu plays a Kutch-based sprinter in Rashmi Rocket who overcomes multiple hurdles to become an athletic star.

The 2 minute 51 seconds trailer throws light on her guts and glory which is short lived as she is asked to undergo a gender test.

The story reminds us of Dutee Chand, the Odisha-based sprinter, who was banned from competing as a woman because of high testosterone levels.

The trailer then swerves into a courtroom drama where Abhishek Banerjee plays the lawyer who fights Rashmi's case.

Like Dutee, Rashmi hails from a family with limited economic means. With consistent hard work, Rashmi beats the impossible and win medals for the country.

Directed by Akarsh Khurana (Karwaan, Yeh Meri Family), Rashmi Rocket is both predictable and cliched.

We can easily predict what will happen in the next scene. But Taapsee, who is on a roll in movies these days, gives us an exciting performance.

The actress underwent a physical transformation to acquire an athlete's body and looks perfect for the role. She shines in the trailer.

Priyanshu Painyuli (Mirzapur) plays her husband, Supriya Pathak her mother.

'Haar jeet toh parinaam hai, koshish karma hamara kaam hai- -- the mantra, which drives athletes resonates in the trailer.

Will Rashmi Rocket win the audience over?

We'll find out when it releases on ZEE5 on October 15.
