Khiladi turns 25!

Akshay Kumar got his his name Khiladi after the release of Khiladi in 1992.

After Khiladi's success, Akki did a series of Khiladi movies.

Here's looking at the bankeable star's long association with Khiladi:

Khiladi, 1992

Akshay Kumar

Quite fittingly, the first film in the series is set in college where the four lead actors -- Akshay, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori and Sabeeha -- play students.

The suspense thriller was a commercial success.

Main Khiladi Tu Anari, 1994

Akshay Kumar

This action comedy was the fifth highest grossing film that year.

Akshay and Saif Ali Khan's onscreen shenanigans made a big impression on the box office. It also starred Shilpa Shetty.

Sabse Bada Khiladi, 1995

Akshay Kumar

What stood out in this Akshay-Mamta Kulkarni starrer was the Bholi Bhaali Ladki song, that was quite a rage when the movie released.

Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, 1996

Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi marked Rekha's first negative role and was noteable for her steamy scenes with Akshay.

Wrestlers Crush and Undertaker were part of the cast which had Raveena Tandon in the female lead.

Mr And Mrs Khiladi, 1997

Akshay Kumar

The only comedy in the Khiladi series, Mr And Mrs Khiladi introduced Akshay's now beloved deadpan comic timing to audiences.

Giving him able support was the bubbly Juhi Chawla.

International Khiladi, 1999

Akshay Kumar

Twinkle Khanna -- later to become Akki's missus and Mrs Funnybones -- starred in this 1999 thriller.

In the bizarre story, Khanna's reporter is assigned to interview Devraj (Akshay), the biggest criminal in the world.

And whatdoyouknow?! Crook and scribe fall in love.

Khiladi 420, 2000

Akshay Kumar

Khiladi 420 had Akshay perform some of the most dangerous stunts of his career.

Khiladi 786, 2012

Khilada Avatar

A rather tepid return to his famous avatar after 12 years.
