Karishma to resume telecast from July 7

June 30, 2003 15:14 IST

The Kolkata High Court on Monday allowed the telecast of the controversial mega-serial Karishma: The Miracles Of Destiny on Sahara TV.

The serial, which marks Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's debut on the small screen, faced rough weather when American author Barbara Taylor Bradford filed a petition alleging infringement of copyright; she claimed the serial was based on her novel A Woman Of Substance.

Justice M H S Ansari cleared the injunction on the telecast of the serial produced by Sahara Media Entertainment Limited, with a direction to start its telecast from July 7.

The court has also directed Sahara to furnish a bank guarantee of Rs 25 lakh (Rs 2.5 million).
