India, US to meet in July over easing of sanctions

Indian and US experts will meet in July this year to discuss ways to ease Washington's sanctions on export of dual use goods and technologies to New Delhi.

Stating this in a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs Digvijay Singh said experts from both countries would discuss implementation of Indo-US statement of principles, to enhance high technology commerce including trade in dual use goods and technologies, signed in February this year.

Singh said the statement articulated the intention of the two governments to address regulatory, policy and procedural issues. He said the implementation of these principles would contribute to India's economic and technological development.
