The Sensex continued its rise throughout the day on Wednesday and finally closed 344 points up at 12,218.
The NSE Nifty too soared by 118 points to close at 3641.
Tata Steel has soared 6.6% to Rs 611. ITC has zoomed over 5% to Rs 204.
ONGC has surged 6% to Rs 1,444, and Reliance has added 4.2% to Rs 1,087.
Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto have zoomed around 5% each to Rs 892 and Rs 3,272, respectively. Tata Motors has rallied 4% to Rs 967. SBI has advanced 4.8% to Rs 968. Bharti Tele has soared 3.8% to Rs 418, and Satyam has spurted 3.5% to Rs 772.
Cipla has shed 1.6% to Rs 259. HDFC Bank is down 1% at Rs 838. Out of 2,595 stocks traded so far, 2,082 have advanced, 476 have declined and 37 are unchanged.
Sensex at 1500
Sensex up 329 points; ITC zooms 5%
The Sensex is now up 329 points at 12,202.
The NSE Nifty is up 102 points at 3625.
Tata Steel has soared 6.7% to Rs 613. ITC has zoomed nearly 5% to Rs 204.
ONGC has surged 4.5% to Rs 1,424, and Reliance has added 3.7% to Rs 1,082.
Bajaj Auto have zoomed 4.7% to Rs 3,268. Hero Honda has rallied 4.3% to Rs 885, and Tata Motors has gained 4% at Rs 967, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped 1.5% to Rs 835. The market breadth continues to remain extremely positive. Out of 2,545 stocks traded so far, 2,024 have advanced, 480 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
Sensex @ 1410
The Sensex is now up 247 points at 12,121. The index had opened with a positive gap of 89 points at 11,963, and zoomed to a high of 12,145.
The NSE Nifty is up 70 points at 3593.
Tata Steel has zoomed nearly 7% to Rs 612. Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto have zoomed 4% each to Rs 885 and Rs 3,246, respectively. Tata Motors has rallied over 2% to Rs 950.
ITC has surged 4% to Rs 202. Reliance has gained 2.6% at Rs 1,070, and ONGC has added 2.3% to Rs 1,393. Infosys has advanced 2.6% to Rs 3,227. Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 2.2% each to Rs 594 and Rs 2,685, respectively. HDFC Bank has dropped 1.5% to Rs 835. Grasim has slipped over 1% to Rs 2,155.
Out of 2,491 stocks traded so far, 1,993 have advanced, 451 have declined and 47 are unchanged.
Sensex @ 1200
The Sensex touched a high of 12,145, and is now up 253 points at 12,127.
The NSE Nifty is up 74 points at 3597.
Tata Steel has zoomed nearly 5% to Rs 601. Hindalco has rallied over 3% to Rs 222.
ONGC has flared up over 4% to Rs 1,418. Reliance has gained 2.7% at Rs 1,072.
Hero Honda has rallied nearly 4% to Rs 882. Gujarat Ambuja has soared over 3% to Rs 112, and Grasim has added 2.5% to Rs 2,237.
ICICI Bank has advanced 2.7% to Rs 630. Infosys has moved up 2.4% to Rs 3,218. HDFC Bank is the sole loser among the Sensex stocks.
The market breadth is extremely positive. Out of 2,103 stocks traded so far, 1,785 have advanced, 272 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
Hindustan Zinc has zoomed over 10% to Rs 934. Crompton Greaves, GMDC, Gometric Software, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank, United Phosphorous, Thermax, MRPL and Bombay Dyeing are the other major gainers.
Graphite India has gained 8% at Rs 307 on the back of strong results.
ICI India has slipped over 3% to Rs 360. Syndicate Bank and Zee are down over 1% each.

The Sensex opened with a huge positive gap of 89 points at 11,963.
The index zoomed to touch a high of 12,121, and is now up 227 points at 12,100.
Tata Steel has soared over 4% to Rs 597. Hindalco has rallied 3.3% to Rs 222.
Hero Honda has zoomed over 3% to Rs 877. Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 3,209 and Rs 953, respectively.
ITC has surged over 3% to Rs 201. Reliance has moved up 2.8% to Rs 1,072.
ICICI Bank has advanced 3% to Rs 632. Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro have added 2.5% each to Rs 596 and Rs 2,693, respectively.
There is not a single loser among the Sensex stocks.
The market breadth is extremely positive. Out of 1,692 stocks traded so far, 1,473 have advanced, 197 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
Sensex @ 1010
The Sensex opened with a huge positive gap of 89 points at 11,963.
The index soon zoomed back above the 12,000-mark and is now up 234 points at 12,107.
The NSE Nifty too is showing strong signs of a bounce back and is up 63 points at 3586.
