The Sensex closed at 5,034 - down 31 points. The Nifty was down 12 points at 1,578.
Reliance closed 2.6% lower at Rs 451. While ITC was down Rs 8 at Rs 1,015, HLL finished firm at Rs 110.
Infosys was up Rs 13 at Rs 1,560. Satyam and Wipro ended flat at Rs 337 and Rs 564,
respectively.
Tisco shed nearly 6% (Rs 14.50) to Rs 245. HPCL slipped 5% (Rs 15) to Rs 299.
Maruti and Tata Motors closed weak at Rs 361 and Rs 373, respectively.
