Sensex up 19 points at close

The Sensex on Friday closed with a gain of 19 points at 5,073. The Nifty ended four points higher at 1,602.

Reliance flared up 2.51% (Rs 11) to finish at Rs 466. ITC jumped 1.76% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,000. HLL closed up a tad at Rs 120.

Grasim shot up 2.69% (Rs 26) to Rs 984. Gujarat Ambuja advanced 2.93% (Rs 8) to Rs 272. ACC notched up 2.82% gains (Rs 6) to Rs 235.

Tata Motors moved up nearly 2% (Rs 8) to Rs 409. Hero Honda and Maruti clocked a per cent gain at Rs 440 (up Rs 3) and Rs 425 (Up Rs 4), respectively. Bajaj, however, was down 1.52% (Rs 13) at Rs 832.

Infosys ended up a per cent (Rs 13) at Rs 1,455. Wipro logged a per cent gain (Rs 5) to Rs 529. Satyam, however, ended lower by Rs 3 at Rs 329.

Zee soared 3.95% (Rs 5) to Rs 140. Tata Power gained 1.93% (Rs 5) to Rs 275. HDFC was up a rupee at Rs 600.

PSU and pharma stocks, however, scaled down on profit-taking.

ONGC was down a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 699. HPCL lost 1.45% (Rs 4) to Rs 300. MTNL was down a rupee at Rs 136. SBI, however, was up a rupee at Rs 464.

Dr. Reddy's lost 1.63% (Rs 13) to Rs 755. Ranbaxy dropped 1.42% (Rs 14) to Rs 963. Cipla was down a rupee at Rs 240.

Bharti dropped 7.47% (Rs 12) to finish at Rs 152. Hindalco slipped a per cent (Rs 10) to Rs 1,054. HDFC Bank ended a tad lower at Rs 370.
