IBM India has registered the highest revenue share growth of 4.2 per cent among the top server vendors in India during the first nine months of 2003, according to the IT sector tracking firm IDC.

In the non-x86 Unix server segment, IBM recorded the highest revenue marketshare growth of 6.9 percentage points in the first three quarters of 2003 compared to the year-earlier period, an IBM statement said on Monday quoting IDC figures.

In the x86 Intel server segment, IBM recorded the highest revenue marketshare growth of 3.4 percentages point in the first nine months of 2003 over the same period a year ago.

"IBM's solid execution of its channel strategy has been one of the key factors driving its success in the ASEAN and Indian region," Rajnish Arora, associate director, Enterprise Servers and Workstations, IDC, Asia Pacific said, adding that a strong multi-platform product line-up enabled IBM to better cross sell, the statement said.
