Hutch cuts roaming rates by 33%

Within hours of communication and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran asking private cellular operators to reduce the roaming charges, Hutch on Tuesday announced 33 per cent cut in roaming airtime rates.

The reduced tariff will come into effect from May 1, the company said in a statement.

The new rates would be Rs 1.99 per minute down from Rs 3 per minute now.
