Progeon among top 3 BPOs globally: Infy

Infosys Technologies has announced a stellar set of numbers this quarter, way above market expectations. The company's management informs that its BPO arm, Progeon has been profitable with Q2 revenues at $33.8 million and operating profit margins at 23 per cent.

TV Mohandas Pai, director, human resources at Infosys gives the details, "Progeon has done revenues of $33.8 million and has done well. It has had 16 per cent sequential growth and they are bang on target. They have got 24 clients, 3 new clients this quarter. Progeon hired about 2,200 people in this quarter itself. Attrition is about 38 per cent and its net margin is at about 23 per cent."

Mohandas Pai believes that Progeon has scaled itself up among the top three providers globally due to its ability to deliver on the order management side.

He further adds, "Progeon is doing well in terms of growth and putting investment back into the business. Progeon's F&A practice is growing. Their ability to deliver on the order management side has made them one of the top three providers in the world. Their knowledge management services is growing at the rate of over $1 million per month and they have 300 extraordinary consultants."
