Digital technology leader Samsung India on Tuesday launched new 'Hydn' and 'Vivaldi' series of 15, 17 and 19 inches TFT LCD monitors.
It also launched 'Awesome Twosome' consumer promotions for 17-inch TFT LCD monitors and announced its plans to strengthen its information technology business in the country by focusing on technology leadership and product innovation as its key strategies.
TFT LCD monitors, printers and note PCs would be the flagship categories that would drive the company's hi-end sales for out IT business this year, Princy Bhatnagar, head-value business, IT sales, Samsung India told newsmen in New Delhi.
He said the company had launched its new, advanced 'Hydn' series of TFT LCD monitors in 15", 17" and 19" screen sizes and 'Vivaldi' Series in 17" screen size. Samsung also boosted its note PC lineup by launching new 'thin and light' note PCs on the Nappa platform with Intel, Centrino, Duo mobile technology, Bhatnagar said.
The estimated market prices were Rs 11,000 for 540N (15" TFT LCD Monitor), Rs 14,000 for 740N (17" TFT- LCD Monitor), Rs 14,500 for 740B and Rs 23,000 for 940 T (19" TFT LCD Monitor), he added.
The company, which is targeting a 200 per cent growth in its TFT-LCD Monitor sales this year, is also enhancing the production capacity of its TFT-LCD monitors, Bhatnagar said.
"We expect TFT-LCD monitors to contribute 20 per cent by volume and 35 per cent by value to our totl Monitor sales in this year," he added.
Samsung also announced the launch of its premium, Stylish 'Vivaldi' series of TFT LCD monitors with buttonless design.
Available in 17 inches screen size, the 770P comes with the world's best contrast ratio, 1500:1 for perfect image colour; fast response time of 6 ms, ultra viewing angle 1780/1780 and a triple hinge magic stand for the most flexible control and the world's best height adjustment 170mm (134mm).
"The introduction of our new, technologically advanced TFT LCD monitors coupled with consumer-oriented schemes, will be our key strategies to help the customers upgrade from 15 inches CRT to 17 inches TFT LCD monitor," Bhatnagar said.
He said that with the introduction of the new range, Samsung now has the largest TFT LCD monitor lineup in the market, available in screen sizes of 15", 17" (3 models), 19" (2 models), 20.1, 21, 24,32 and 40 inches, priced in the range between Rs 11,000 to Rs 2,10,000.
The company also announced the launch of its consumer promotion for TFT LCD monitors, 'Awesome Twosome' on an all India basis. As part of this promotion, consumer buying a SyncMaster 740N TFT LCD gets a Samsung Laser Printer ML-1610 worth Rs 8490 free with the purchase.
The company is targeting sales of 25,000 units of this model during the promotion period.
