The seventh annual Nasscom ITES-BPO strategy summit commences in Bangalore on Tuesday.

The city is hosting the event for the third time in succession. The theme this year is 'global leadership and operational excellence'.

Some of the key CEOs in the ITES-BPO (information technology enabled services-business process outsourcing) sector are slated to take part in the summit, the National Association of Software and Service Companies said.

Besides, a few international speakers would also address the two-day event that Nasscom said had emerged as the distinctive platform for the ITES-BPO industry.

Nasscom president Kiran Karnik said the Indian ITES-BPO sector continues to grow from strength to strength, witnessing high levels of activity and increasingly adding to higher value-added activities like knowledge process outsourcing.

The event would see an India ITES-BPO CEOs' conclave for the first time. The summit would help strategise and define key building blocks for the industry, Nasscom officials said.

Karnik said the ITES-BPO industry today is set for the next level of success and expansion."The focus will be on customer service, change management and operational excellence," he said.

"The summit this year will provide a platform for both third party and captive vendors to probe and dwell upon the issues and challenges for securing global leadership".
