IIS, B'lore to get Rs 100 cr grant

The Finance Minister P Chidambaram has announced that the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore would be made a world-class university. 

A one-time grant of Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) has been proposed.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram announced the Union Budget 2005-06 in Parliament on Monday.
