Acer unveils PC for Rs 20,999

In a move to make consumer desktops more affordable, Acer has introduced a sub-Rs 21,000 AMD Athlon-based desktop.

The new Acer APSLe-M model is a glossy black colour, Linux-based multimedia desktop. It has an AMD Athlon XP 2400 Processor, 128MB RAM, 40GB hard disk drive, CD ROM and 1.44 Floppy Disk Drive. The model also has a 15" Cathode Ray Tube monitor, speakers with sub woofer and modem.

It is priced at Rs 20,999.

"Acer APSLe-M has elegant visual appeal that blends extremely well into the settings of a modern home. This compact desktop packed with excellent functionality has easy to use features designed to enhance user efficiency," says Acer.

The Acer APSLe-M is targeted at SOHO (small office home office) and the home segment. Consumers also have the option of upgrading to the Windows Operating System at an additional cost.

The product reflects our strength, as this consumer desktop has all features that SOHO and home segment users require with a very attractive end-user price," says S Rajendran, general manager - sales and marketing, consumer products group, Acer India.
