HLL Q3 net up 7.2% at Rs 443.22 cr

Consumer goods major Hindustan Lever Ltd has reported a 7.2 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 443.22 crore (Rs 4.43 billion) for the third quarter ended September 2003 as against Rs 413.29 crore (Rs 4.13 billion) in the same period last year.

The net sales for the reporting quarter were up at Rs 2,467.49 crore (Rs 24.67 billion) as against Rs 2,367.46 crore (Rs 23.67 billion) in July-September 2002, company vice-chairman M K Sharma told reporters in Mumbai on Thursday.

The net profit for the nine months period ended September 2003 were marginally lower at Rs 1,277.07 crore (Rs 1,289.17 crore in January-September 2002) while sales stood at Rs 7,526.41 crore (Rs 7,320.35 crore) respectively.
