Sensex zooms 67 points at close

Heavy buying in the last hour of trading saw the Sensex finish with a solid gain of 1.4% (67 points) at 4,838.

Wipro advanced 3.7% (Rs 51) to Rs 1,451. Infosys was up more than a per cent (Rs 60) at Rs 4,672. Satyam was flat at Rs 314.

Reliance gained 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 460. HLL moved up Rs 3 to Rs 180, and ITC was up nearly 2% (Rs 15) at Rs 876.

BHEL gained 2.6% (Rs 11) to Rs 433. HPCL was up Rs 4 at Rs 339. MTNL and ONGC also moved up, but SBI was down a notch at Rs 449.

Grasim was firm right through the session, and added Rs 24 to Rs 854. ACC and L&T also finished in positive zones.

Tata Motors firmed up 3% (Rs 11) to Rs 387.

ICICI Bank zoomed 5% (Rs 12) to Rs 239. BSES gained 4% (Rs 19) to Rs 447. Tisco added 2% (Rs 8) to Rs 344. HDFC Bank was up Rs 6 at Rs 303.
