Established in April 2016, Mumbai Animal Association is an organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating street animals in the suburban areas of Mumbai, including Kandivali, Borivali, and Dahisar.
Based out of New Delhi, Wagging Tales Foundation is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, rehoming abandoned/injured animals. Through 2 dedicated shelters, lifelong care given to over 350 rescued animals. They feed 700 street animals across Delhi every single day.
One of the oldest Indian animal care organisations, Bombay SPCA is in existence since 1874. Much respected animal institution, operating from Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals, in the heart of Mumbai, it provides medical care, shelter, rehabilitation, cremation services to dogs, cats, horses, birds, even cattle, horses.
VOSD, based near Bengaluru, is a very large rescue & rehabilitation centre for street canines. Operates a well-equipped sanctuary, home to over 1,400 rescued dogs, many of whom are permanently disabled, chronically ill or, sadly, victims of abuse.
One of Scan Foundation's primary aims is to end the abuse and suffering of animals and recognise animal's rights. Opened in 1995, it operates throughout Tamil Nadu, feeding and treating animals, mainly cats & dogs, and getting them adopted.

The Leela Dog Rescue and Care or LDRC Foundation is devoted to creating a secure and nurturing environment for homeless and neglected canines. They especially look after abused animals and also take in additional dogs from more crowded shelters.

Located in Andhra Pradesh, Karuna Society for Animals and Nature is focused on protecting and improving the lives of animals while promoting harmony with the natural world.
The Kolkata chapter of People for Animals has a 4.4 acre facility at Ashari where cats, dogs, kites, cattle live. It also offers treatment and care to animals brought in and has outreach volunteers.
